Strenghts
The F.I.L.A. Group can leverage a number of unique differentiation points, making it a global sector leader.
Leadership in key markets
Present in over 150 countries worldwide, the Group is one of the few global players focused on consumer products for School and Fine Art and is among the European and Mexican market leader for coloured pencils and on the North American and Indian markets for graphite pencils. In the Fine Art segment, the Group is a major global player and a leading producer of fine art and coloured paper.
Global presence
Global penetration by expanding the network from 3 to 35 commercial subsidiaries and the number of production facilities from 6 to 22, allowing it to produce almost all of its products in-house. The high degree of interchangeability between production facilities allows the Group to optimise the production cycle and to adapt promptly to changes in the legal and regulatory framework (import/export and introduction of new customs duties).
Vertical integration
A fully integrated business model that allows control of the critical stages of the production and distribution chain. Production is highly verticalised, making it possible to control costs, monitor quality standards and guarantee supplies to the Group's distribution centres. An unique and large warehouse in Annonay, France, set to become the distribution hub for the Central European countries for all major brands in the fine arts and schools sector. The investment has enabled the Group to benefit from cost and service synergies, particularly in distribution to customers on the European market. Annonay is supported by a state-of-the-art ERP platform and a dedicated warehouse management tool that benefits from technologically-advanced systems.

Extensive portfolio of Brands and products
A portfolio of more than 25 iconic brands, with more than 50 product families for writing, drawing, modelling and painting. A Group that has become over the years a symbol of high quality, reliability and safety standards.
Successful M&A track record
Solid experience in successful M&A transactions. Since the 1990s, the Group has focused on expanding its presence in several key growth markets and on diversifying its revenues both by geographical area and by product category, focusing in particular on the School and Office and Fine Art worlds.
Financial Performance
Consistent and significant resilience in the face of economic cycles demonstrated in recent years. The Group's operating and financial performance has featured revenue growth, good profitability and the ability to generate cash.
Solid management team
The leadership exercised since the 1960s, first by Alberto Candela and then by Massimo Candela, has translated into a stable and coherent long-term vision, allowing for the execution of a growth strategy that has led to the Group's current configuration.
